Job Title: WOW (Warriors of the Word) Program Director
Location: Central Kansas Christian Academy (CKCA), Great Bend, Kansas
Position Type: Part-Time, 15-20 hours/week
School Year: 2026/2027 (Following CKCA Calendar)
About CKCA:
Central Kansas Christian Academy (CKCA), a K-8 Christian school located in Great Bend, Kansas, currently serves over 80 students with a dedicated staff of 15 full-time and part-time professionals. Our mission is to provide a high-quality Christian education by partnering with parents to nurture students' relationship with God while achieving academic excellence. We are committed to developing students academically, spiritually, and character-wise, all in a Christ-centered environment.
About WOW:
Warriors of the Word (WOW) is an after-school program designed to enhance children's lives through discipleship in Christ, service to others, and the development of leadership skills. Running Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with an exception of noon dismissals from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, following the CKCA calendar, WOW is open exclusively to CKCA students. This program offers a wonderful opportunity to serve the kingdom of God through ministry work while positively impacting students' lives.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and organized WOW Program Director to oversee daily operations, staff, student engagement, and program administration. The ideal candidate will have a heart for working with children, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to Christian principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily program operations, including staffing, scheduling, and student management.
Track staffing and student hours; submit employee hours and timecards to CKCA's financial department.
Manage community scholarship hours and submit related documentation to the Principal.
Handle accounts receivable and payable related to the program.
Coordinate crafts with staff and order supplies as needed.
Purchase and organize healthy snacks for daily distribution.
Work directly with students in a positive, Christ-centered environment, fostering engagement and spiritual growth (e.g., practicing weekly Bible verses).
Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, including background checks through the CKCA office, and ensure compliance with employee handbook policies.
Perform other duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in youth programs, leadership, or related fields preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with students and parents.
- Commitment to Christian values and principles.
- Background check clearance
