At Central Kansas Christian Academy, we cherish opportunities to celebrate community and God's beautiful creation, especially during the vibrant fall season. The Schroeter family proposed this Pumpkin Guessing Contest, a fun-filled activity that brought students and staff, together in the spirit of friendly competition and gratitude.
The contest challenged students to guess the weight of a large, beautifully carved pumpkin generously provided by Hammeke Farms. With anticipation and excitement, students and staff alike took their guesses, eager to see who would come closest to the actual weight.
We are proud to announce the winners of this year's contest! Seventh grader Riskin Waters guessed 157 pounds, and Eli Smith guessed 115 pounds. Both came remarkably close to the actual weight of the pumpkin, which was 141 pounds. The staff winner was Mrs. Maneth, who guessed 147 pounds—just a few pounds away from the true weight!

"Mrs. Maneth (left) with the winning students—Eli Smith, Riskin Waters—and the Schroeter kids, Hazel and Dakota, who also participated in the fun pumpkin guessing contest at CKCA."
This event was made possible through the generous efforts of the Schroeter family, who organized the contest, Hammeke Farms who provided the pumpkin and prize pumpkins. We also extend our gratitude to Animal Medical Center for allowing us to weigh the pumpkin on their scale.
Fall is a wonderful time to reflect on God's creation, appreciating the beauty and bounty of His harvest. As Isaiah 40:8 reminds us, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”" Events like this not only foster fun and fellowship but also remind us of the beauty of God's creation. We thank everyone who participated and helped make this event a memorable part of our fall festivities. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate God's goodness and enjoy time together as a school family.
