CKCA Students to Lead “See You at the Pole” Gathering

Students, teachers, staff and School Board members at Central Kansas Christian Academy will gather around the school’s flagpole Wednesday, Sept. 23, for “See You at the Pole,” a time of student-led prayer for the school and community.

The special assembly will be organized and led by CKCA’s Student Council, including the newly elected officers for the 2026-2027 school year. Serving as officers are Hazel Schroeter, president; Kaydin Williamson, vice president; Dakota Schroeter, treasurer; and Jazalene Smith, secretary. The officers were elected by their peers to represent the student body during the school year. Other Student Council members are Eli Hutchinson, Oliver Strecker, Trinity Smith, Rhett Zecha, Blakely Williamson and Azeneth Valles-Lomas.

During the gathering, students and adults will assemble around the school flagpole and recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the pledge to the Christian flag and the pledge to the Bible. Students from each grade level will then lead a prayer focused on a specific area of the school, community, state, nation and world.

Kindergarten students will pray for CKCA and its families, while first graders will pray for local churches. Second grade will pray for the city, third grade for Barton County, fourth grade for the state of Kansas, fifth grade for the United States, and sixth grade for missionaries. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will pray for those who are sick or injured.

The gathering will take place around a freshly restored flagpole. CKCA's long time supporter Jeremy Guthrie recently volunteered his time to repair and repaint the flagpole in preparation for its continued use by the school.

“See You at the Pole” provides CKCA students an opportunity to put their faith into action by praying together and lifting up the needs of those around them. With Student Council leading the gathering, the event also gives students an opportunity to grow in Christian leadership and service.

Parents are welcome to join students, faculty, staff and School Board members for the gathering at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the CKCA outside flagpole.
