Central Kansas Christian Academy had the great honor of spreading joy and holiday cheer at Azria Health. Azria Health is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center offering long-term care, post-acute recovery, and patient-focused programs. The students engaged in a heartwarming visit, singing Christmas carols, handing out handcrafted Christmas bookmarks, reciting inspiring Bible verses, and meeting the residents they will be "adopting" for the holiday season.
This school year, the students have developed a special relationship with Azria Health, visiting multiple times to read books with residents, do puzzles, play the piano, and participate in other activities that foster connection and companionship. The recent holiday visit added to these meaningful interactions, providing an opportunity for students to share their faith, talents, and kindness- a meaningful time for both students and residents.
A special thank you goes to Mr. Wassenberg, the school’s music and band teacher, whose leadership made the singing segments possible. Melanie Schroeter, a dedicated parent volunteer, played a vital role in maintaining the relationship with Azria Health and ensuring the event was meaningful. Mrs. Weber, the school's Teacher’s Aid, helped coordinate transportation and scheduling, ensuring smooth logistics for the day. Appreciation is also extended to all teachers, staff, and volunteers who assisted with transportation.
As a Christian school, Central Kansas Christian Academy is happy to serve as a beacon of love, hope, and faith during the holiday season. Events like this not only enrich the students’ spiritual growth but also foster a spirit of giving and compassion that extends beyond Christmas.
Together, students and residents alike shared in the true meaning of Christmas.
Psalm 98:1-3"Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations."
1 John 4:8: "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Luke 2:11: "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."
Isaiah 9:6: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
