Ring the Bell, Fill the Shelves: CKCA Aims for Another Power the Pantry Win
GREAT BEND, Kan. — The donation bell is ringing again at Central Kansas Christian Academy, and every ring means someone has stepped up to help feed a neighbor.
After taking first place in 2025, CKCA is collecting donations for the annual Power the Pantry Great Bend Schools competition, October 26–30, 2026. The Warriors invite families, friends, businesses, and community members to help defend their title while supporting the Community Food Bank of Barton County.

Held in partnership with Wheatland Electric’s Power the Pantry campaign, the friendly competition turns school spirit into community support. Schools compete based on donations per student, giving even a small school the opportunity to make a big impact.
Last year, CKCA earned first place with an impressive 28.13 pounds donated per student, receiving a $600 cash prize from Gifting Forward. That accomplishment reflected the generosity of students, families, and community supporters—and gives this year’s Warriors a challenge: Can we make an even bigger impact in 2026?
Everyone can help answer that challenge. Bring nonperishable food donations to CKCA at 215 McKinley Street in Great Bend, and don’t forget to ring the bell after giving! Each ring celebrates another contribution toward stocking local pantry shelves. Please do not donate water bottles or bulk items.
Monetary donations are also welcome, with every $1 counting as one pound toward the competition total. A few dollars, a few cans, or a contribution from a local business can help the Warriors’ total grow while supporting families throughout Barton County.
For CKCA students, Power the Pantry offers a hands-on lesson in generosity and an opportunity to put their faith into action. Students get to see how their individual gifts, combined with those of others, can make a meaningful difference close to home.
To learn more or arrange a donation, contact the CKCA office at 620-792-3477 or office@ckcacademy.com.
Let’s hear that bell, Warriors! Together, we can fill the shelves and share God’s love with our neighbors.
