CKCA to Celebrate National Bring Your Bible to School Day

GREAT BEND, Kan. — Students at Central Kansas Christian Academy will bring an important piece of home to school on Thursday, Oct. 1, for National Bring Your Bible to School Day.

The Bible is already part of every school day at CKCA. The school integrates biblical teaching into every subject, and each student receives an Adventure Bible in first grade. That Bible stays at school and moves with the student from grade to grade.

Thursday’s celebration offers something different: Students are invited to bring a personal Bible from home. It might be one they read with family, one they received as a gift or simply a copy they especially enjoy using.

Principal Jami Reed has drawn the names of 11 students who will read their favorite Bible verses aloud. Hearing the passages their classmates chose will give students a chance to share what God’s Word means to them personally.

National Bring Your Bible to School Day is an annual event organized by Focus on the Family. This year, it falls on Oct. 1.

For CKCA, the day builds on something students experience throughout the year while giving them a new way to share their faith and the Bibles they treasure at home.
