Two of CKCA's talented students, Sophia Strecker (6th) and Alejandro Carbajal (8th), have been selected to represent our school in the esteemed Youth Art Month (YAM) Exhibit at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library. This achievement highlights the artistic talents of our students and reflects the creativity nurtured at CKCA.

The Youth Art Month Exhibit will be on display from February 24th through March 28th at the library, located at 1515 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS. The library's hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 9 pm. Visitors are encouraged to visit and view the inspiring artwork created by our students.

Additionally, the Kansas Art Education Association invites the community to join in celebrating our young artists at a special Celebration and Reception on Saturday, March 28th, 2025. The event runs from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Shawnee County Topeka Public Library. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the artwork, enjoy a guest speaker, and participate in various activities. There will also be merchandise sales related to Youth Art Month and light refreshments.

The library will open at 9:00 am, with YAM activities beginning at 11:00 am. The highlight of the event will be the Awards Ceremony, scheduled to start around 1:00 pm. This celebration provides an excellent opportunity for students, families, and community members to come together and honor the artistic achievements of our students.

Congratulations to Sophia and Alejandro on this recognition, and thank you to everyone supporting our students’ artistic endeavors.

A special shoutout to CKCA's Art Teacher, Miraya Starnes, for her dedication and guidance in fostering the artistic talents of our students. Her support has been instrumental in helping Sophia and Alejandro reach this achievement.
